Simone Henneken ist Autorin und Trickfilmerin. Ihre Veröffentlichungen bevölkern seltsame Figuren wie Fadenmänner, Frauen, die Hunde stechen und Tatzelwürmer. Ihr Film Das deutsche Gesicht handelt von einer jungen Frau, deren Leben so langweilig ist, dass man kaum hingucken mag. Zitat: "Sie hat das deutsche Gesicht. Es ist nicht alt, nicht jung, nicht schmal, nicht breit, und es befindet sich eine bescheidene Nase in diesem Gesicht, die nicht gross, nicht klein, nicht lang und nicht kurz ist." Als eine fröhlich lärmende Nachbarin einzieht, die auch körperlich sehr viel ausgeprägter ist, sind die ruhigen Tage dahin.
Die Geschichte ist mit Papier-Legetrick auf Film realisiert worden und als CD-ROM und VHS-Kassette erhältlich. Die Musik von Rudi Burr (Helgoland) und Reznicek (Nova Huta) ist eine Mischung aus Elektro-Pop und Super-Mario, die im Ohr kitzelt und zum Tanzen aufruft. Alle 11 Tracks befinden sich auf der CD-ROM als zusätzliche CD-Audio-Files.

Simone Henneken writes stories and makes animationfilms. Her publications are full
of strange creatures like stringmen, women who stab little dogs, tatzelworms
and other fringefigures of life. Her film
The German Face mainly deals
with Silvia von Ambesser, a character she created, who spends her days
studying and thinking up fine-sounding children's names.
"
She has the German face. It is not old, not young, not thin, not wide, and there
is a modest nose in this face which is not big, not small, not long, not
short. Whenever anyone looks at Silvia, they wish wholeheartedly that
her nose would stick out, big and strong, that it would grow and become a powerful
instrument that would give her face an expression and dignity."
In a cheerful
voice Simone Henneken tells the audience about the fast developing bad-luck
of her heroine, and at the same time she brings to light all kinds of wondrous
episodes. The story has been graphically realised with paper in cut-out-technique.
The music by
Rudi Burr (Helgoland) and Reznicek (Nova Huta) is a mixture of electro-pop
and Super-Mario, that tickles your ear, challenges you to dance, and strokes your belly
comfortingly. All 11 tracks are on the CD-ROM as extra CD-audio-files.
